Not 1968

Joshua Keating says it just about right when it comes to the missile defense agreement with the Czech Republic and Russia's opposition:

Guess what guys, it's not 1968 anymore.

That's right, it isn't. The Czech Republic is now a member of NATO and that means that it falls under NATOs umbrella of defense. Sec. Rise has been clear that we will be transparent about everything that is put in the Czech Republic and the agreement only covers the radars of the shield. The deal still has to go through the Czech parliament, but if the NATO alliance is to mean anything in the 21st century, then the balking shouldn't be from America.
